The Story

There was a little boy in a village who lived next door to a zen master. When the little boy turned 14, his father gave him a pony. All the neighbours were delighted and said "how very wonderful".

However, when the zen master heard the news all he said was "well, lets see..."

Two years later the boy was riding his pony and somehow fell from it and broke his leg. The neighbours all came together, clicked their tongues and said "how very terrible".

The zen master saw this and all he said was "well, lets see..."

A year later a war was declared and all the able bodied boys were sent off to the front. The boy was spared as he was a cripple. The neighbours were happy for him and said "how very fortunate..."

The zen master saw this too and said "well, lets see...."

Conducted stakeholder interviews to elicit business goals, needs analysis, and overall direction. I created a new identity for the company and currently I'm working on the front end development phase.

Produced detailed wireframes and interactive prototypes, designed a consumer-focused interface and themed layouts. Managed website development through all stages, including estimate creation, contract negotiation, and delivery of final product. Updated and maintained client websites on an ongoing basis.

Between 2006 and 2011 I've created a large number of wordpress themes and my favorite part was when I created them for the general public (freebies). With tens of free and commercial themes designed, the site recorded over 600,000 downloads by 2011 when it was sold to a new owner.

Took the lead and created a new and enhanced identity for the brand. Also closely supervised its implementation across web. Provided UX guidance to fine-tune the student portal interface and functionality, optimizing the users’ experience. Solution finder for Environmental Design & Wayfinding.

August 2007 – Present UX/UI Designer - Co-Partner Evolutica

On-site planning and consulting with clients to design and develop user-centred web applications. I also created web prototypes including wireframes and HTML mockups for a large number of brands and projects. Leading the user experience design of projects for the web and mobiles.

September 2007 – October 2011 Designer - Blogger DesignDisease

Planned, tested and designed themes for the worldwide WordPress community. Also wrote articles about blog design, graphic design and web and UX design. With tens of free and commercial themes designed, the site recorded over 800,000 downloads by 2011 when it was sold to a new owner.
